Ordering & Delivery
How do I place my first order?
Just head to our Shop page, choose your product, select your preferred delivery date at checkout, and you’re all set! We’ll deliver your loaded rack right on your driveway.
What areas do you deliver to?
We deliver throughout Johnson County, Kansas — including Overland Park, Olathe, Leawood, Lenexa, Shawnee, Prairie Village, Merriam, Mission, and more. Check our full Service Area page for details. If you’re just outside JoCo, go ahead and try placing an order and you may be in luck!
How does delivery work?
We drop off your loaded portable rack directly on your driveway. From there, one person can easily wheel it on concrete to wherever you want it. We recommend a friend to help guide it off-road!
Can I choose my delivery date?
Yes! You select your preferred delivery date at checkout.
What if I want the wood placed in a specific spot?
Leave a note at checkout with your preferred placement instructions. You can even send us a photo — especially for the pallet orders. We may or may not be able to accommodate, but we will do our best!
Do you deliver to businesses?
Absolutely! Restaurants, country clubs, hunting clubs, venues, and breweries all benefit from a better firewood experience. Contact us for commercial and bulk pricing.
The Rack System
What is the rack deposit?
We keep a $75 rack deposit on file to help us get our racks back — kind of like the quarter in the ALDI shopping carts. If you ever decide to return the rack without reordering, we’ll refund your deposit in full.
How do I reorder when I’m running low?
Easy — just scan the QR code on your rack, choose your preferred refill date, and leave the empty rack out front on your scheduled delivery day. We’ll bring a fresh loaded rack and take the empty one back.
What if I don’t want the rack?
No problem! We offer a “dump on driveway” option at checkout — we’ll tip the wood right onto your driveway and you stack it yourself. No rack, no deposit.
Can I move the rack myself?
Yes! Our racks are designed to be portable even when fully loaded. One person can easily push it on concrete. We’d suggest a friend to help guide it off-road.
The Wood
What is kiln-dried firewood?
Kiln-dried firewood is wood that has been dried in a USDA-certified kiln rather than left outside to air-dry (seasoning). We target ~10% moisture content in just 42 hours — compared to the 2 years it typically takes to properly season oak outdoors.
What’s the difference between kiln-dried and seasoned firewood?
Both aim for low moisture content, but kiln-drying gets much lower, much faster and much more consistently. Seasoned wood typically targets around 20% moisture and can take 1–2 years. Our kiln-dried oak hits ~10% in 42 hours. Less moisture means easier lighting, hotter burns, less smoke, and no bugs or mold.
Why does it matter how dry the wood is?
Drier wood lights faster, burns hotter, produces less smoke, and is safer for your chimney. Wet or green wood is hard to light, creates a lot of smoke, and can cause creosote buildup in your chimney — which is a major fire hazard.
What species of wood do you sell?
We sell premium oak firewood. Oak is one of the best firewood species — it burns long, hot, and clean. We source local Missouri trees that are too small for the lumber mills.
Where can I burn kiln-dried oak firewood?
Anywhere! It’s perfect for:
- Indoor fireplaces
- Outdoor fire pits
- Wood-fired pizza ovens (low moisture helps hit the high temps needed for a perfect crust!)
- Live fire cooking over a Breeo or Santa Maria grill
- Campfires
Does kiln-dried wood have bugs or mold?
No. No bugs or mold can survive 42 hours above 260°F in our kilns. It’s one of the biggest advantages over traditionally seasoned firewood, which can sit outside for years and become home to insects and mold.
Pricing & Products
How much firewood do I get per rack?
The portable rack holds enough wood for roughly 8–10 well-fueled fire nights.
What is a face cord?
A face cord is a stack of wood 8 feet long, 4 feet tall, and one log-length deep (ours are 16 inches). It’s equivalent to roughly 4 of our portable racks and is a great option for heavy users or commercial customers.
Do you offer bulk pricing?
Yes! Our face cord pallet gives you about a 15% discount compared to buying individual racks. We also offer custom pricing for commercial/business orders — contact us for details.
Do you have kindling?
Yes! We sell kiln-dried kindling in .75 cu ft bags. It’s the perfect fire starter — way better than wet twigs from the yard. Add a bag to any order at checkout.
Do you sell firewood rack covers?
Yes! We carry a full-length firewood rack cover made in the USA from reinforced vinyl. It protects your wood from rain and snow while still giving you easy zipper access.
Delivery Area
Do you deliver outside Johnson County?
A little! If you’re just outside JoCo, go ahead and try to place an order — you may be in luck. We do charge a delivery fee based on distance from our normal route. We’re focused on Johnson County for now but hope to expand to more of the Kansas City metro soon.
