Johnson County Firewood is a family owned & operated business, born out of a love for fire, family and home.  We homeschool, homestead and have a life built around being home as a family!

During the fall, winter and early spring months, our hearth is usually radiating heat from a fire.  As a father, it is wonderful to see the fire naturally draw the family together physically.  Many times I’ve joked that we should start a business that makes it easier and more fun for families to have more fires…well here we are!

Johnson County Firewood is really a system that we’ve developed over the years for ourselves, to make the fire experience as smooth as possible.  As a family, we usually have a couple cords of split oak stacked and seasoning on very large racks in our back yard.  Then in the fall, I move roughly 1/2 of a cord at a time inside our garage for easy access and to keep it out of the rain.  From there we fill a canvas log tote or two and carry to our hearth for burning. While this works well for us, it requires a lot of work splitting and stacking out back.  Not to mention we also need ~2 years to properly season oak.  Then we haul and re-stack each piece of wood in our garage, needing the space in our garage for all that wood!

We’ve removed all that hassle with this system.  Let us split, dry and stack the wood for you, on our portable wheeled racks.  And let’s also reduce the space needed in your garage to 40 inches…that makes my wife happy!  And with such an easy re-fill process, it’s like you have an unlimited supply of the highest quality firewood always at your fingertips.
